Land Policy Dialogue

Event Information
Event Date:
Friday, 7 August 2015 -
9:00am to 1:00pm

The intent of this public forum is to create a dialogue between the research done on land at the Makerere Institute of Social Research between 2012 and 2014 and the social constituencies interested in land issues. This is meant to create a convergence between academics, civil society organizations and state institutions to rethink the trajectory of land and agricultural policies in Uganda and generate debates on the ways in which the social, political, economic, ecological and cultural challenges can be addressed through more participatory and inclusive policies.

The papers will deal with the diverse arrays of components of land questions in Uganda from different disciplinary perspectives: politics, anthropology and political economy.
