Prof. Lisa Wedeen will be delivering two public lectures on "The Arab Uprisings: Protest and Collective Imaginaries in the Political Present" at Makerere Institute of Social Research.

The lectures will be on:

Monday July 1, 2013: 'Ambiguities after Asad (the father): Reflections on Syria in the Neoliberal Present' . Time: 6:00-8:00pm.

Wednesday July 3, 2013: 'The Politics of Deliberation: Publics and Protest in Yemen' .

Time: 2:15-5:00 pm.

Venue: Seminar Room-1.

Lisa Wedeen is the Mary R. Morton Professor of Political Science and the College and a Co-Director of 3CT. Wedeen specializes in comparative politics, the Middle East, political theory, feminist theory, and qualitative methods. She is also the recipient of an NSF award for her collaboration on the Qualitative Data Repository Project, 2011-13 and the David Collier Mid-Career Achievement Award in Qualitative and Multi-Method Research, American Political Science Association, 2010.
