Interdisciplinary PhD in Social Studies
Oketcho Phillip is a PhD fellow at MISR. He holds a M.A. Ed. (University College Dublin, Ireland); M.A. Linguistics, B.A. Languages (First Class Honours) both of Makerere University, plus a PGDE from Kampala International University.
He taught at Makerere University School of Languages, Literature and Communication and, before joining MISR, he worked with the National Curriculum Development Centre of the Ministry of Education (Uganda) as a Specialist on Ugandan Languages. His current research interests include grammar, lexicography, sociolinguistics and African linguistics; orthography, language of instruction, education and colonialism.
