Stella Nyanzi on Academic Committee of (QP5) the Fifth International Queering Paradigms Conference: “Queering Narratives of Modernity” at FLACSO, Ecuador during 20th – 22nd February 2014.

Dr. Stella Nyanzi joined the Academic Committee of QP5 – the Fifth International Queering Paradigms Conference that is entitled ‘Queering Narratives of Modernity’. The QP5 will be held at the Latin American University of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Quito - Ecuador, the Andes between 20th and 22nd February 2014.

The central theme of QP5 explores the intersection of queer studies with post-colonial and de-colonial studies. It questions how post-colonial and de-colonial paradigms can be queered, how the queer can be decolonized, and the implications of such conversations on hegemonic and alternative understandings of modernity. The conference is therefore committed to engage scholars from the non-core. For details of the series of Queer Paradigm Conferences please see http://www.flacsoandes.org/coloquioqueer/about.php.
