Title: "Decolonial Imaginations - Beyond Rightwing Appropriations and Leftwing Critiques"

Discussants:

1. Ms. Anna Karthika

2. Dr. Mbasughun Ukpi

3. Dr. David Ngendo-Tshimba

Date: Wednesday, February 25, 2026

Time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM EAT (4:30pm to 7:30pm India Standard Time).

Venue: MISR Seminar Room 1 and via zoom.

Abstract: The talk looks at the use of the idea of "decolonisation" by the right wing globally; the resulting critique of Decolonial Studies by the Left (as preparing the way for the Right); and my response to both of these, asserting that both right wing appropriations and left wing critiques are misplaced, and reclaiming the decoloniality framework as a valuable resource.

Papers in preparation for the talk are available for pick-up from MISR Library, between 9:00AM - 9:00PM, daily. You can also download from: https://kafila.online/2025/09/15/anti-colonial-thought-and-the-global-right-an-untenable-alliance-ishan-fauzdar/.
