His main supervisor was Prof. Mahmood Mamdani and the opponent was Professor Issa G. Shivji, Professor Emeritus, Univ.of Dar es Salaam and the Director of Nyerere Resource Centre, Tanzania.

We are pleased to announce that one among these was MISR Director, Professor Mahmood Mamdani.

Professor Mahmood Mamdani, delivered this year’s TB Davie Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, 22 August 2017, at University of Cape Town's New Lecture Theatre on Upper Campus.

His lecture, titled Decolonising the Post-Colonial University, cut to the heart of debates that are still raging across South Africa’s higher education institutions.

MISR Visiting Research Fellow, Ama Amatoritsero's readings, were recently featured at two Ugandan events, namely: Writivism and Goethe Institute, check out what he read at Goethe here and here.
