Call for Papers: MISR Graduate Students' Conference

Makerere University Institute of Social Research (MISR) has organised a Graduate Students’ Conference for students writing their doctoral dissertations. The conference is meant to enable students to make presentations from original research findings and get valuable feedback from faculty and peers.  The conference will take place from 8-9 July at MISR, Makerere University in Kampala.

Thematic areas:

The conference is limited to students working in the study of Africa in any of the following clusters:

Dr. Adam Culver, a Visiting Research Associate at MISR will present a paper at the Makerere University Philosophy Symposium Series of the Department of Philosophy in the School of Liberal and Performing Arts.

Six MISR MPhil/PhD students awarded SSRC Fellowships

We are proud to announce that six MISR MPhil/PhD students have been awarded various SSRC Next Generation Social Sciences in Africa Program fellowships for 2016-17.

Two fifth year students Yusuf Kajura and Semeneh Ayalew received the Doctoral Dissertation Completion Fellowship, two fourth years Yonas Demisse and Haydee Bangerezako received the Doctoral Dissertation Research Fellowship and two third years Charles Prempeh and Yahya Sseremba received the Doctoral Dissertation proposal Fellowship.
