Prof. A.B.K. Kasozi is published in new book on Leadership and Management

Together with Emuron Olupot and Pius Achanga, Prof. Abdu Kasozi has written a chapter on  governance and leadership in Uganda in a newly published book edited by Johann Mouton and Lauren Wildschut. The book is titled: Leadership and Management: Case Studies in Training in Higher Education in Africa, published by African Minds in Cape Town, South Africa (2015). The chapter on Uganda runs from page 53 - 66.

MISR PhD Fellow Wins ASA Award

Forth year graduate student Yusuf Serunkuma has been awarded the African Studies Association (ASA) Presidential Fellowship for 2015.   As one of the seven fellows selected from a competitive pool of scholars, Yusuf will attend the 2015 ASA Annual Meeting in San Diego in November, where he will speak about his work on popular culture and Somaliland.  Yusuf will also hold workshops at Wellesley College, MA [his host institute in the US], and will have speaking engagements at Harvard and Columbia.

Articles on global challenges facing higher education by Prof. A.B.K. Kasozi

The following articles on higher education issues were written by Prof. A.B.K.Kasozi, a Research Associate in the Makerere Institute of Social Research and published in the MWALIMU section of the New Vision newspaper - a Uganda daily, in the last two years. Before coming to MISR, the author was the Executive Director of the National Council for Higher Education, 2002-2012. Most of the specific issues may be on Uganda but the themes are relevant to the global challenges facing higher education.
