About me

She is a Political Ecologist, passionate about people-centered conservation. Her current exciting challenge is to lead 5 WWF team members in 5 countries to 3 regions to support local communities in accelerating the implementation of the Global Biodiversity framework.  The aim is to strengthen the conditions for local communities participation in the co-creation and implementation of National Biodiversity Action Plans!

Barbara has over 20 years experience in environmental policy analysis, planning and implementation. The experience includes participating as a Coordinating Author of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Values Assessesment; Member of the Scientific Advisory Commiitee ( SAC) for the Climate Research for Developement ( CR4D); United Economic Commisson of Africa (UNECA); Working group on National REDD+ ; Working as Country Director of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN),
