Temesgen T. Beyan is a senior researcher at the Research and Documentation Center (RDC), Asmara and a lecturer in the Department of History at Adi-keih College of Business and Social Sciences (CBSS) in Eritrea. He received MPhil and PhD degrees from Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR), Makerere University, Uganda in 2018. He also received an MA in international public administration, from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China in 2011.
 

She is a Political Ecologist, passionate about people-centered conservation. Her current exciting challenge is to lead 5 WWF team members in 5 countries to 3 regions to support local communities in accelerating the implementation of the Global Biodiversity framework.  The aim is to strengthen the conditions for local communities participation in the co-creation and implementation of National Biodiversity Action Plans!

Jacob Katumusiime researches on the intersections of Culture and Politics. He has previously facilitated graduate classes in ‘Theories of Culture and Society’ and undergraduate tutorials in ‘Classical and Modern Political Thought’ at Makerere University. Jacob holds an Interdisciplinary PhD in Social Studies, a Master of Philosophy in Social Studies and a Bachelor of Arts with Education (First Class) from Makerere University. He is the Winner of the 2024 Rahamon Bello Award for the Best PhD in African and Diaspora Studies.

Theresa Auma is a Ugandan scholar and social activist. Theresa has a vast experience in the NGO sector in Uganda, working with the land sector. She is the current Executive Director of Land and Equity Movement in Uganda (LEMU), an NGO whose work is focused on the recognition and protection of customary land rights. As a land expert, she has also offered expert services as a consultant to international organizations, focusing on diverse topics such as promoting responsible investments in land, protection of community lands and resources.

Evarist Ngabirano is Senior Lecturer and Head of Humanities department at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mountains of the Moon University in Fort portal, Uganda. He is also a Research Associate at Makerere Institute of Social Research (MISR), Makerere University. He holds an interdisciplinary MPhil/PhD in Social Studies from Makerere University, a Masters of Religious Studies from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) and a Bachelor of Divinity from Makerere University.

He is an Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He served as Associate Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities (2018–2021) and as Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations (2022–2025). He is also Associate Editor of the Ethiopian Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (EJOSSAH)

She currently works as an Assistant Professor and researcher at Addis Ababa University's Institute of Ethiopian Studies. Since October 2021, she has also been a Fatima Mernissi Post-Doctoral Fellow at The Africa Institute in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. From April 2010 to November 2012, Gebremichael served as the Director of Addis Ababa University's Gender Office, where she initiated several projects, including a Gender Resource Center IT lab and a library for disadvantaged students.
