Exhibiting our Publications at the 2015 Kampala International Book Fair

27 Apr, 2015,

"Books Take you Places" was the theme of the 2015 Kampala International Book Fair that took place from 22-24 April, 2015 at the Uganda National Cultural Center grounds.  As an invited exhibitor, this was an opportunity that MISR used to showcase and sell some of its scholarly publications. Most encouraging for us was the effort of the Uganda Reproduction Services Bureau (URSB) to arrest anyone caught in the act of copyright infringement. URSB is also in the business of enforcing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and so far, a number of arrests have been made and monies close to 1.5bn Uganda Shs recovered from the offenders. As an Institute that has authored its publications, we thank URSB for that step in the right direction.

Get our original well priced (all 2003) Book series listed below from MISR:

1. Getting the Question Right: Interdisciplinary explorations at Makerere University - Mahmood Mamdani, Editor

2. Define and Rule: Native as Political Identity -  Mahmood Mamdani

3. Displacing Human Rights: War and Intervention in Northern Uganda - Adam Branch

4. Saviors and Survivors: Darfur, Politics and the War on Terror - Mahmood Mamdani

As requested during the exhibition, MISR will soon have more copies of its publications in some of the bookshops in Uganda and beyond. Look out for these titles and more from Aristoc Booklex and Uganda Bookshop for now.
